The IX Global Energy Prize Summit in Beijing called off
As a result of the current epidemiological situation in China and the outbreak of coronavirus, the management of the Global Energy Association decided to postpone the IX Global Energy Prize Summit. Date and place of the event will be announced additionally.

The IX Global Energy Prize Summit was scheduled for April 27-28, 2020 at the China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The two-day business program consisted of panel sessions, round tables, and also included open discussions with the participation of delegates from 20 countries and about 800 visitors.

"While shaping the agenda of the event, we set our goal to discuss the most important topic –'Industry and technology in the energy trilemma,' said Rae Kwon Chung, Chairman of the International Award Committee. - This, in turn, predetermined the discussion topics: 'Future of oil and gas industry in the changing energy mix', 'Long term policy as response to climate change', 'Voice of urbanization: solutions for cities and regions. Showcases from Asia', 'Geopolitical opportunities and challenges of energy systems transition', 'Realistic outlooks, forecasts and impact of climate on humanity'. 'I believe that regardless of the change of time and location of the Summit, one way or another we will pay great attention to the declared topics," Rae Kwon Chung summed up.

At present, the Association's management is considering the upcoming 'Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum', scheduled for September 2020, as one of the possible venues for the Global Energy Prize Summit. The final decision on the venue will be made later, in case of the stabilization of the epidemiological situation in China and the complete absence of threats to the life and health of participants and guests of the upcoming Summit.
